Trust label usage rules
Detailed conditions, permitted and prohibited uses for the RefurbCertified label and widget.
This document supplements the trust label guide. It applies to any use of the RefurbCertified name, logo, badge or embeddable widget.
Official widget recommended
The RefurbCertified widget loads data live from our servers. It ensures displayed status (valid, expired, suspended) is authentic and cannot be forged locally.
Eligibility conditions
- Active, non-suspended RefurbCertified certificate
- Maintenance subscription up to date (where applicable)
- Acceptance of these rules upon certificate issuance
- Authorised domain configured for widget (if restriction enabled)
Permitted uses
- Badge display on the certified company's website
- Use of the official JavaScript widget
- Mention of « RefurbCertified » with certificate number
- Link to the public verification page
Prohibited uses
- Use without active certificate or after suspension
- Static badge reproduction without live verification link
- Modification of label design, colours or wording
- Use on products or services outside certified scope
- Implying government guarantee or regulatory approval
Embeddable widget
The official snippet is provided in the merchant dashboard. It must be installed as-is, without modifying source code.
- Async loading — non-blocking for site performance
- Server-signed data — cannot be forged locally
- Verify button required — links to /verify/[certificateId]
- Install and click logs retained to detect abuse
Monitoring & sanctions
- Automated monitoring of domains and widget usage
- Public reports via /verify and « Report a problem » form
- Formal notice then certificate suspension for abuse
- « Suspended » status published on public registry
