Label protection

Anti-counterfeiting policy

How to verify a certificate, report fraud and applicable sanctions.

RefurbCertified actively combats certificate counterfeiting and label misuse. This document describes the verification and reporting procedure available to everyone.

Only the public registry is authoritative

A PDF, image or copied badge proves nothing. Always verify at /verify with the certificate number or scan the official QR code.

Verify a certificate

Verification is free, account-free and available 24/7.

  • Go to /verify and enter the certificate number (e.g. RC-2026-XXXX)
  • Scan the QR code on the official RefurbCertified certificate
  • Use the live widget — only data loaded from our servers is authentic
  • Check status: valid, expired or suspended, with dates and certified criteria

Report a suspicious certificate

  1. Gather evidence

Site URL, screenshots, certificate number claimed, description of suspicious use.

  2. Submit report

Via « Report a problem » form on the certificate /verify page, or email abuse@refurbcertified.com.

  3. Acknowledgement

Within 48 business hours. A report reference is provided.

  4. Investigation & action

Cross-check, contact identified organisation if applicable, certificate suspension or public notice if fraud confirmed.

Report handling

  • Priority for reports involving consumers or marketplaces
  • Investigation within 10 business days for substantiated cases
  • Coordination with authorities possible for commercial fraud
  • « Suspended » status published on registry for confirmed counterfeiting

Sanctions
